SUNOLO listens to audio in order to translate it. This page explains what happens to that audio, what we keep, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Do you keep a record of what I watch?
Do you store the audio you translate?
Do you sell anything about me?
Can I get my data, or have it deleted?
What we do hold
Account details
Your name, email address and password hash. Your preferred language and any devices you have registered.
Usage counts
How often features are used — for example, that a language was switched — without any content, title or transcript attached.
Compatibility checks
The device brand you checked and the answer you got, so we know what to support next. Stored against a rotating session identifier, not your account.
Support messages
What you write to us and the address to reply to, kept for as long as the conversation is useful and then removed.
Security logs
IP addresses and request metadata for failed logins, rate-limit trips and blocked submissions, kept for a short window to defend the service.
Why we hold it
Account data exists to give you the service you asked for. Usage counts exist to tell us which languages and devices to build next. Security logs exist to keep automated signups and credential-stuffing attempts out, which is a legitimate interest in keeping the service usable for everyone else.
Cookies
One session cookie, set when you sign in or submit a form. It is HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax, and it carries a session identifier and nothing else. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site. The full list.
How long we keep things
Account data for as long as the account exists, and 30 days afterwards. Security logs for 90 days. Usage counts are aggregated and the underlying rows removed after 13 months. Audio, as above, is never stored at all.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Write to us through support and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the response you can complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that affects what we do with your data, we will email account holders before it takes effect rather than quietly updating the page.
